How to Get Smooth Skin: The Best Tips

A recent study found that the average American has 3,600 bad skin days in their lifetime. That amounts to almost 10 years!

Some people are blessed with good skin and never have to worry about a thing. However, if you’re one of the less fortunate, then you’ll know that it takes a lot of effort to get your skin decent looking.

If you’re sick of caring for your skin and getting nothing in return though, it’s time to turn things around. Here’s how to get smooth skin so you look and feel radiant!

Use the Right Moisturizers

Simply slathering lotion on your body won’t suffice if you want clear and smooth skin.

If you have dry and rough skin, then you’ll need moisturizers that contain niacinamide, enzymes, peptides, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid. On the other hand, if you have combination skin, look for the words “mattifying” and “non-comedogenic”.

No matter what type of skin you have, aim to get moisturizers that have retinol. This vitamin A derivative stimulates collagen production, which combats wrinkles and fine lines.

Wear SPF

One of the best ways to keep your skin pristine is to wear SPF, even if it’s cloudy and/or cold outside. Get products that have an SPF of 30 or higher.

While spending time outdoors, make sure to reapply every two hours or so.

Exfoliate Regularly

You should exfoliate regularly, both chemically and physically. Even though chemical exfoliation sounds painful and abrasive, it actually isn’t. In fact, it’s great for people with sensitive skin!

Chemical exfoliation is also easier on your skin. You can do it several times a week, whereas you should do physical exfoliating less often. Just remember to listen to your body and stop exfoliating if your skin’s getting irritated.

Drink Lots of Water

Water has lots of benefits besides keeping us alive, and giving us beautiful skin is one of them!

The more water you drink, the plumper your skin cells become. In addition, water removes toxins from your body. As a result, your skin will have a bright and healthy look!

Get Pigmentation Removal

Pigmentation removal is a treatment that evens out your skin’s look. It can reduce the appearance of things like discolored patches, freckles, and age spots.

While it can take up to eight weeks for full results, you’ll see a noticeable difference around four weeks after treatment. Better yet is, the results are permanent! So if you want more details, it’s best if you speak to a skincare professional to see if the treatment’s good for you.
