The intention of a cover letter is to introduce you and give a quick overview of your professional background.
Your cover letter should be between 250 – 400 words long on average.
An excellent cover letter can pique the interest of the HR manager and persuade them to examine your resume. An inferior cover letter, on the other hand, may result in your application being tossed in the trash. To avoid this, it’s critical to know how to write a perfect cover letter.
You might wonder what an excellent cover letter looks like. Here’s an example:
[Your Name]
[Your Address | Your Contact Number | Your E-mail ID] [Date] [Name of Employer Company/Brand] [Address of the Company/Brand (in 3 different lines)]
RE: [Job Title/ Role]
Mr./Ms. [Name of Hiring Manager]
Para 1: First paragraph should be an introduction of yourself and what you can provide to the company with your skills by working at the chosen position. Begin with a quote or a mantra that your believe in and strongly follow. It should attract the attention of the recruiter so that he reaches till the end of your cover letter and then the resume.
Para 2: Briefly, jot down all your academic qualifications, professional qualifications and certifications (if any). Pick a few responsibilities mentioned in the job description and explain how you will fulfill them with your knowledge, skills and past experiences, if selected. This is the place to underline your achievements and the crux of the cover letter which would get you the job.
Para 3: Pick some soft skills from the job offer/ description and explain how you will be able to provide value to the company through such skills. The thought of praising yourself too much shall not stop you from putting out all your skills and qualities. But, too much excess of something is bad and hence don’t mention a lot of skills and especially, DO NOT LIE. Don’t just talk about yourself but also put down how you will be a plus point to the company.
Para 4: The last paragraph should be the concluding paragraph. Relate it to your introduction and write accordingly. Extend thanks to the hiring manager for his time and consideration. End the letter with a concluding line e.g., Looking forward to hearing a positive response from you or looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely

Take care of grammar and vocabulary. It’s your first impression on the employer and first impression is the last impression. A format might differ from country to country and place to place but the one given above is a basic and general format. You can obviously mould it according to your requirement.
