The height of the male species ranges from 28 to 36 inches in height and 110 to 220 pounds in weight. Whereas the female species have a height of 26 to 32 inches and a weight of 100 to 190 pounds.  

They have double coats which are totally thick and help them to work in colder regions too. The thick double coat also acts as a protected layer on their body. 

The outer layer of their coat consists of long and coarse hair whereas the inner layer has smooth and short hair. They come in different colour coats like a brown, white, grey, black, tan, brindle, fawn, and piebald.

What Are The Grooming Requirements?

The dogs who have shorter hair on their body should be brushed regularly as it is easy to maintain. The ones who have long hair should be brushed twice or thrice a week to avoid knots. A warm water bath can be given too. 

The teeth must be brushed thrice or four times every week. Besides that, it is recommended to clip the long nails and check for ear wax and other debris to avoid infections.

As Russian dog bears are breeders so it is important to add proteins to their diet and give them food that is vital so that they stay healthy and fit. Add food items that have fatty acids and concentrated energy so that the coat remains shiny and healthy.
